Scouting in 50 Words

Scouting offers challenge and adventure to 400,000 young people and 100,000 adults across the UK. We believe in helping our Members fulfil their potential by working in teams, learning by doing and thinking for themselves. We give people of every background the chance to stretch themselves, learn new skills and make life long friends

History

2011

Endeavour Explorers is first conceived, planned and set-up.

2012

6th January
The first Endeavour Explorer meeting takes place. There were just three Explorers (plus two leaders)! Tonight's meeting was a Challenge Night.
10th to 12th August
Endeavour Explorers attended the 2012 County Explorer camp: The Hungry Games.
7th September
Endeavour Explorers began their second term with a barbeque on Apply Beach.
29th September
The first Endeavour Explorers fundraising took place today. Endeavour Explorers managed the car parking for a fundraising event hosted by Ability Dogs 4 Young People, and received a donation from drivers for their efforts.
26th to 28th October
The second Endeavour Explorers camp took place. The camp had a Halloween theme, and included Halloween-themed food. Debriefing on the camp was very positive, and many lessons were learned for future camps.
1st December
Another fundraiser: Endeavour Xmas Fayre, featuring games, tombola and a Scalextrix track!
21st December
Endeavour's Christmas Nosh-Up: Food, drink and merriment as a celebration of the first year of Endeavour Explorers!

2013

8th February
The Executive Board creates the official Endeavour Explorers Unit logo.
3rd to 6th May
Endeavour's Bank Holiday Camp, featuring the usual pioneering, campfire cooking and more!
19th July
To celebrate the end of term — and the end of Endeavour Explorers' first full academic year — with an End of Term Challenge and barbeque.
25th to 27th October
The second Halloween Camp took place this weekend, including, as before, Halloween themed food and activities.
